Hi all, and congrats on making it to another Friday! The second-to-last in January, which means the sales are drawing to a close and retailers are doing their final markdowns. Here are my favourite steals – click through to snag yourself a lovely bit of design.
At Heal’s, easily one of my favourite shopping destinations, there’s a good sale across lighting, accessories and furniture with up to 40% off. For those of you who love the Arco floor lamp by Achille Castiglioni, this is a high quality alternative made by a retailer known for supporting up and coming designers. If you can’t buy the original, it truly is the next best thing. I also adore the Abacus bed for the way it blends a classic wrought iron frame with a more modern shape. I’m thinking it’s the type of thing I’d love to put in Freja’s room when she’s older. For now, I have to let it go. (sob).
At Skandium, lighting is also discounted along with a mix of ex-display and discontinued furniture. I love these Ant Chairs by Fritz Hansen, and this marble pendant by New Works. Two classics that are at a pretty great price.
At Haus, this walnut sideboard by Terence Woodgate is an absolutely gorgeous piece that makes its impact with quiet poise. With only one available, I would move fast.
At House of Fraser, UK fans of Christiane Lemieux (author of Undecorate, and founder/creative designer of Dwell Studio in Manhattan) can pick up some great on-trend accessories and bedding. I personally like this range of vases and these candleholders for a bit of industrial glamour. And starting at £4, that’s a pretty serious bargain.
Finally, my other favourite American import, West Elm. I would focus on kitchenware (some really fun, modern dishware to be had) and accessories, though there’s some great furniture and bedding as well. I’m not a big table setter, but if I were, these feather place card holders would be high on my list. They’re such a good price, I would buy now and keep to give as a house warming gift or birthday present. If you’re into leather club chairs, this lovely guy is 50% off. I must admit, I have sat in it. It’s VERY comfy. And I am lusting after this clock. Somehow it feels just the right side of midcentury-meets-country cabin-chic.
I’ll be making a visit to a few of these sales in person today to see what else I can scoop up. My focus is accessories, so I can finally start adding some personality to a few more rooms in our home. If I buy anything, I’ll be sure to share it on my Instagram feed (which you can find by clicking here).
